Open Question: Why would a person have to pay fees for there subdivision when there is no Home Owners Association?
We are doing a lease purchase on a home, which is located in a small subdivision. Upon deciding to go through with the house, we asked if there were any association fees for this neighborhood and were told there were not. After moving in, we talked to a few of our new neighbors to get to know the neighborhood better and we had asked the question about any neighborhood fees, again we were told there were non. Even the lady who posts letters on the mailbox once or twice a year (before we were aware of her posting letters on mailboxes), told us there were no Home Owners Association fees.
So why would one be trying to collect funds when there is no Home Owners Association?

Open Question: Heard the latest? the home builders association says we need to build more houses?
lol
1) we have a glut of houses already with all the foreclosures...and they want to add to the supply to drive home prices even lower???
2) IF they do get stimulus money for their self serving home building boost, how many of the jobs will go to illegal aliens as workers on those construction sights.
IT KEEPS GETTER BETTER DOESN'T IT??

Open Question: Does anyone live in Canaan, Ct and know about Pine Grove Association, Inc....are they midgets?
Ok so I live near Canaan and my friend told me that there was a community of midgets who don't come out into society and don't allow anyone in their village. I made him take me there to see it...it said "Pine Grove Association, Inc" that had a sign that said private property and another that said "police take notice". The "road" was barely plowed and it went in a circle with a ton of houses really close together in the woods. I was afraid to look because I didn't want them to think I was staring at them for being different....I just wanted to see if it was true. If they ARE mean and don't come out then it is kinda freaky. But I do feel bad for them....they should not have to feel secluded and judged. I think that if they ARE midgets then they probably just like to live together and the stuff about them being antisocial and mean are rumors...they are probably just happier not being judged in their own community. Anyway my main question is does anyone know if this IS in fact a community of midgets? From what i did look at I couldn't see anyone inside the houses. My friend said he went at night once and saw them all but idk if I can believe him. Thanks!

Open Question: Where does the White House Historical Association get all of its money from?
I know they sell Christmas ornaments and other memorabilia. But where does the *real* money come from? Who's the deep pockets behind this association? Surely they're not donating without expecting something in return, perhaps some favor from whatever administration happens to be current.

Open Question: Plumbers moved my fridge and now the door won't shut?
I am leasing an apartment, and the condo association demanded that they bring in a company to repipe all the water lines. So they came yesterday while I was at work, and did the plumbing, made a lot of holes in ceilings all over. And they also apparently moved the fridge. When I came home, the fridge door was open, I could see the light from the inside of the fridge. The door won't shut all the way. It's as if the door is not sitting correctly, not even with the frame of the fridge. The underneath the fridge I can see coil pan and it looks bent, and that's not sitting even either.
The company said they will get a maintanance person to come in and try to fix it. If they are unable to fix it, they will probably have to replace the whole fridge. The thing is the fridge is brand new, maybe 6 months! And the fridge is not ours, as this is our rental unit (private owner). I wonder if they will really replace the whole fridge.
Anyone experience bad plumbing/construction on their house where there was damage done? I'm not sure what the protocol for this type of thing is. We have contacted the property management hired by owner, and they told us to take pictures and that they will go after them. So essentially it will be up to the management company in what happens. I can't help but worry a great deal about the fridge and my food in it. I lost little bit of food yesterday, but it was very little bit of food lost so I am not going to request that they pay for it.
It's actually the drain pan, and not the coil pan that looks uneven on the front. I wonder if leveling the fridge, which this is the first I hear about this will fix the door. It seems to me these guys didn't know how to move the fridge.
