Voting Question: "Only one wedding a day" policy vs possibility of 2 brides in white dresses? (long- lots of details, sorry!)?
Hi all of yahoo! Thanks so much for your help on these wedding issues - we are still trying to narrow it down.
Anyway, a lot of places have a "only one wedding per day" policy, they are mostly golf courses or restaurants, but anyway, places that don't have a hotel nearby.
The places that have great package deals are usually capable of hosting two weddings at the same time. But they also have accommodations either on site or nearby.
So we are still going through places, but I was wondering, would you make the decision to have your wedding at a place if you knew that another wedding was already going on? (I won't book if there is already another wedding scheduled, but me church requires a year in advance, so if I go with a hotel reception, I'd be the only one at the time we book. But I can't stop the 6 month ahead of time brides who book after me)
So, would yuo book if there was another wedding already planned?
AND would you still select that place if you couldn't get a honeymoon suite for your wedding night?
One of the hotels has only 2 honeymoon suites - yes I'm willing to book both, one for us and one for my sister, she can have a second honeymoon, but I can't reserve 150 hotel rooms!
So if you knew there was already a wedding going on, and you couldn't get a honeymoon suite, would you still decide on that place?
Or would you reconsider?
Sorry so long!
Hi! Sorry - should probably add some details. The concern is that one of the hotels has a huge (450 people) ballroom. They can break it up 4 ways. We'd need 2 parts, so there is a possibility of of having a wedding next door to ours. One of the desk staff said that we could get the middle two sections, which would mean 3 events could go on, but the other two on either side of us would have to be much smaller, but since it wasn't a sales/catering person, I'm not sure that that would be allowed.
Also, abt the hm suites, this hotel has an agreement w' a catering hall in the area (actually where my sister had her wedding) that if you use this catering hall, you get discount rates at the hotel.
I'm really concerned w' the possibility of another bride in a white dress coming into the bar after the fact (afterparty) who was at the other place. & thought maybe she'd pick another date if she couldn't get the hm suite.
(The 2 brides at the afterparty happened at my sister's wedding)

Resolved Question: American Holiday??
OK so i want to go to America on vacation (I'm from England)so can people tell me what part of America i should go to what kind of things would be good to do while I'm there if your from America sell me your local area .
what i want from the holiday is not necessarily sun ,see and sand altho i wouldn't mind that what i really want is genuine America . American people going about normal American life. I'm not interested in going to what you might consider the average destination for tourists . eg Miami , Vegas.
I've got a budget of £1000 (however as i understand it thats over $1500) but that includes every thing from travel to accommodation to spending money .
other things it might help you to know are
I'm 24 , i like playing golf . Drinking and socialising , and meeting new people.

Resolved Question: HELP! - Where should I stay for a week holiday in Australia - Upper Coomera or Burleigh Heads?
I'll be staying in Australia for 6 days and 5 nights - 2 days to play golf, 3 days to the theme parks and 1 day to go shopping.
My family consists of my parents, me (14), my elder and younger brother (24 and 10 respectively).
The accommodations are both Holiday Houses.
Upper Coomera is only around 10 minutes away from the theme parks but less than an hour (probably 40 minutes depending on traffic) to the golf courses and shopping mall(s).
Burleigh Heads, on the other hand, is around 10 minutes away from the shopping mall(s) and golf courses and 30 or 40 minutes to the theme parks. It is also very near to the beach. HOWEVER, my family aren't very fond of beaches and stuff.
We're going to hire a car, anyway. The Upper Coomera accommodation also provides a car for hire (225 AUD for 6 days and 5 nights)
So which one should I choose - Upper Coomera (for its NICE furniture and short drive to the theme parks) or Burleigh Heads (for it's location and convenience)?

Resolved Question: I'm visiting Australia next year in Feb & wondering which one is the better - Upper Coomera or Burleigh Beach?
I will be going there for 6 days and 5 nights. 2 days to play golf and 3 days to go visit the theme parks (particularly Sea World, Dream World and Movie World). & probably go shopping at Pacific Fair and Cavill Mall in between.
In terms of location and time-saving, which one is better?
They're both Holiday Houses, btw.
When it comes to looking at the house itself as a whole, the Upper Coomera's Holiday House is better as it has nicer furniture, more comfortable and features a jacuzzi. The theme parks are located less than 30 minutes away from the house. The shopping malls and golf courses are also 30 minutes away. So basically it's in the middle.
The Burleigh Beach's Holiday House, on the other side, has a good location (i.e. located very near to the beach, just a stroll to cafes, the shopping mall, golf courses etc) but it takes at LEAST an hour to go to the theme parks.
Both of them is the same price accommodation-wise, tho.
So conclusion is: WHICH ONE SHOULD I CHOOSE?

All of these are in Queensland, Australia by the way.
I have three options of accommodation which is in Upper Coomera, Burleigh Beach and Surfers Paradise.
Anyway, which one is the best in terms of convenience (i.e. location, length to the store, theme parks, golf courses etc.)
THANKS!
