Open Question: question to people who work for councils(housing)?
this is complicated my other half's step granny lives in a council house-has done for about 30 years,and my other halfs mum is her next of kin so when the step granny dies(sorry but its on the cards) other halfs mum will have temporarily have charge of the house(is this correct? i was told so she can organise emptying and such like) can she then put my other half on the rent book and we move into it? thanks in advance (more...)

Open Question: benefit help? housing benefit? really in need of help.?
ok this week my boyfriend has just found out that he will lose his job in around 90 days as the whole place will be closing. He was on £180 a week but got a promotion and pay rise around october so was then gettin around £260. we rent a one bedroom flat and we thought things will be hard once his job has gone and that we will be able to get housing benefits until he gets a new job, but today working tax credit has phoned us and stopped it, so now we dont have enough money to pay our rent, council tax etc as he only has two more pay days left, and we will get overdrawn, is there anyone we can go to for some help? many thanks in advance, p.s i dont work at the moment as i am in college and finding it hard to find a part time job with the way jobs are right now. x (more...)

Open Question: Finding out the history of my home for free?
Hi we are having alot of problems in our home, which is rented from the local council. I am wondering if anyone know's of a way i could find out 1) Who has lived in the house previously 2) If there has being any 'Going ons' i.e Murders, etc etc. My little boy claims to see 'Someone' stood by his Radiator and behind his bedroom door!! Open Question: HELP ABOUT BUILDING PLANNING PERMISSION?
Hello all. Hope everyone had a good new year. Hopefully someone can help me out. I recently managed to get a fantastic plot of land located within a small group of houses just outside Aberdeen in Scotland. Myself and my girlfriend would like to build a house there but we have come up against a brick wall regarding planning permission. The council have not said no yet, but they said it is unlikely we will get permission. It seems daft as tehre are three new houses in the immediate area which have been constructed within the last three years, and one additional under construction. Also, all the neighbours are on our side as my girlfriend has lived in the area for years. The problem is the area is greenbelt. What I wonder is how did the other 4 new houses get permission? I heard somethign about if you have a business which requires the use of the land then you are more likely to get permission. Does anyone know anything about this? My girlfriend actually does run a business on the land, breeding horses (or nags as i call them). We have a meeting with Aberdeencity council soon and we want to go in with all the ammunition we can. Were not looking to build a massive mansion, rather a classic eterior, modern interior family home. I am quite a green thinking person so I would also like to make the house as green as I can. Anyway, I guess what im looking for is advice on how to get planning permission against the odds. Thanks. Thanks for the answers so far. ok.. welll this guy had a new year party on new year and me and a bunch of friends went over to his house with a bunch of his friends. and we didnt kno wat to play so we decided to play partner hide and seek.. and like his really good friend kept sayin "go ask her to be your partner" and he didnt kno i waz listening "and then the guy i like waz like "idk if she likes me like that (or something like that)" and so he eventually asked me to be his partner and he waz like super red so we went off and hid bt.. since it waz like his house he knew like the perfect hiding spots so we went out to his barn and talked for a while and then they found us and he went straight over to his friend.. then l8r he wanted 2 play ping pong with me and so i waz like suuuure. he had played his friend b4 and waz really good and i hadnt really played much so i waz thinkin o gosh im going to die bt he went like wayy easy then when we all had dinner together he sat next to me my friend told me that she thinks that he likes me (shes goin out with his friend and he keeps like hinting) and so like a few days ago at skool we had this meeting. it waz only the girls bt the student council for the guys was there too and he was on it.. and he waz like staring at me and then when i would glance at him he would look away and talk to his friend again.. and as they were leaving i waved at him casue he waz lookin at me (again) and he smiled and waved back so i like him bt idk if he likes me (more...)

Open Question: Please be brutally honest!!!?
Be harsh I want any adive you can give!!! doesnt matter if it is a speeling error or i should take something out or add somethign in!!! I DONT CARE IF YOU ARE MEAN!!! I wrote this monologue for school and i want to make it as good as possible. Kaitlyn and I met on the first day of kindergarten. We were been inseparable ever since. We would do everything together and tell each other anything. We always went to the same school and were in the same class. We worked on projects together and were always there when the other one needed us. We almost went to different middle schools, but then we didn?t. We almost went to different high schools, but then we didn?t. At the start of high school it was hard having to realize that we wouldn?t have all of our classes together. We always had different interests but that is what we loved about each other. Little did we know that eventually those interests would take us in different directions. She was on the basketball team and I was in student council. I was on the cheerleading squad while she was playing soccer. We made new friends and rarely saw each other anymore. Kaitlyn and I are in our senior year at high school now. I haven?t had a real conversation with her in over a year. We say hi when we pass each other in the halls but that is about it. It isn?t that we don?t like each other anymore, we just grew apart. We had planned our whole life together. We would get married on the same day and have houses beside one another. Our children would get married and then we could be even closer. Sitting in my room looking at pictures of us and thinking about all of our memories, I really miss her. Open Question: Funding for disabled child?
My friend has 2 sons aged 11 and 3 and a daughter aged 2. Her 3 year old has been diagnosed with Autism and therefore is registered as disabled. She currently lives in a 3 bedroom council house but has been told she must move to a 4 bedroom house or get the loft converted. Her little boy hits and pulls hair and she has been told he must have his own bedroom. Is there any funding available through charities etc that could help them fund the loft conversion? (more...)

Open Question: Please provide some help and advice on a cat missing for 3 days.?
I have lost my cat in the Hucknall area of Nottingham. She is a small, tubby black and white female with a pink nose. She is very friendly and loves her food. I have contacted all the neighbours more than once and they have all been lovely and checked their sheds and garages but nothing. I have made over 100 flyers which I have posted through doors of nearby houses. I have contacted all the vets nearby and also the RSPCA and the council but nobody has heard or seen anything. She has been microchipped but does not wear a collar. This is so unusual for her - she normally stops in the house because she likes her warmth. Any ideas or opinions - should I give up??
