I will be turning 26 in 3 months and I still live with my parents and my 2 annoying, freeloading younger siblings (ages 21 & 23) who don't work and don't seem interested in finishing school. My father was very controlling when i was growing up. I always felt like he watched my every move. Because of this, I always stayed home & never had much of a social life. He kinda relaxed a little bit as I became more financially independent. I feel like being on my own will improve my social life but right now I'm helping my parents pay the bills since my father has recently gone back to school so he can get a better Job. I love my parents & I like to help them but I won't be able to continue helping them as much if I move out. Okay so I need character names... the story is about high school kids growing up and learning. yeah I know its been done before, but im kind of basing it off of people I know. Last night I had a dream that was a lot more vivid than the ones I usually have. In the dream my best friend (who is currently 17) and her boyfriend of the same age had decided to get married, it was the day of the wedding and they had not planned anything so I offered to organise everything for her. I searched the giant communal house we were living in in the dream, and found a number of accessories etc, I had also decided that the colour scheme would be white blue and black (does this have any significance?). After all of this I still was unable to find a wedding dress for my friend, I asked everyone in the house but was unable to find anything, even offering to spend all my pay on purchasing one for her. I then swam to the house of a family I seemed to know very well and complained, as well as suggesting that the father, who was very similar to my own father, and later 'morphed' into my father, would drive me around the main roads asking shops if we could borrow any white dress they might have. We were unsuccessful with this pursuit, so we slowly drove to a park that the members of my school were located at. My school is a small and independent so it was reasonable that all the students were able to fit inside a small playground. The drive to the school was almost constantly interrupted by traffic jams. Along the way we noticed a ginger cat that had been trailing or walking in front of us for the whole ride and I picked it up for a moment until I thought it was getting too affectionate then put it back down. When we arrived at the park, I asked one of my friends if she had a white dress, which I recalled her having, she replied that she did but it would be too difficult to acquire for me as she was getting a lift with a boy from school who in the real world she is sleeping with. I then went to a slide and was sitting on it watching two of the recently graduated students pretend they were suave to impress some unknown girls. As I was sitting on the slide, or the bars, my crush came up to me and wrapped his legs around me, he then started playing with my hair and being very touchy feely. I had the feeling that he was going to ask me out. We both got up and he rolled away in the same position he was seated in. He isn't like this at all so it was quite unusual. After this a whole school meeting was called which I assumed was for me to ask about a dress. I began yelling out loud about it, but was continually ignored or talked over. Every now and then a teacher from my school would quiet everyone down and ask them to let me speak, however whenever I began to speak she changed the subject or talked over me. On one of these occasions she stopped me to let another student hand out cake and spanish donuts to everybody. After this I woke up. It would be fantastic if someone would be able to help me understand this dream. I rarely have dreams that I remember so completely or that are so vivid, and I would like to find some meaning to it. Thankyou in advance! My crush is not actually my boyfriend. I would just like to say that the main focus of the dream was on the dress I was trying to find for my friend, and the panic in trying to find that. I would like an interpretation for all parts of the dream but the person that I like is not the focus. (more...)

My husband and I have been married for almost four years and the last three years have been complete and utter hell for me. When we first got together, I had a good job... I was independent. I had one kid from a previous relationship that I (was thankfully was smart enough) ended because the dude was a drug addicted loser. One of our mutual friends introduced us and when I met him I remember not really being that impressed. I mean, the way I grew up travelling all across the country with my mom from one man to another kind of gave me a different perspective of what I wanted in a partner than most girls. My husband is the kind of guy a girl is supposed to find and marry. He is responsible, mature--- the strong and silent type. But, he had just gotten out of a really nasty divorce when we met. He lied and told me the divorce was over a year before we met... but it turns out they had only seperated a year before we met and the divorce and -actual- seperation happened only a month before we met. :( Well, his ex-wife had cheated on him and left him for a dentist that made a lot more money. Her and the dentist got married right away and I think that he married me for revenge. I was young, pretty, thin and stupidly happy and independent when we married... and then his mom, my mom and him all ganged up on me to convince me to have his child. I got pregnant and had a miscarriage the first time. The second time I got pregnant the doctor put me on bed rest and I had to quit my job. My husband had credit cards he wouldnt tell me about. He wouldnt pay MY bills so now my credit is ruined. He made me feel like a big leech for living with him and not "working." We would fight about it at least twice a day, but basically it just boiled down to him resenting me because I was useless. I was only two months along, it was my birthday and then Christmas when I asked him to come upstairs and be with me intimately... only to find out later that he had stayed up all night on porn. Both nights. When we got our cable bill for that month it turned out he had blew a couple hundred bucks on porn... and the month before and the month following were another 600 down the drain. I was so hurt. I felt rejected. Well, the real kicker was when I was four months along he made me have my own room. He refused to sleep with me and told me some BS thing about not wanting to hurt the baby... three months later I was cleaning his room and looked under the bed for laundry and found a box... a huge box... full of naked pictures of him and his ex-wife together. :( It goes on and on... but basically over three years he did so much hateful, hurtful stuff to me that I just cant let it go. I used to beg him night and day to turn the tv off and just talk to me. Spend time with me. Sleep with me. I would cry and demand and plead... Then one day it just stopped. I woke up one day and realized I didnt love him anymore and I hated this needy, dependent, fat girl that I had let myself become. Now that Ive lost a lot of weight and Im almost back to me he is suddenly interested again... but the thing is, he didnt lose interest when I started gaining weight... that happened before I even started showing. I am finally getting myself back and I realized I dont want to be with him anymore. See... I was molested as a kid. My dad used to come into my room with the lights off and he would climb on me and do his thing. He told me not to talk or move and I basically just closed my eyes and waited it out. My husband has erectile problems.. he cant seem to prevent himself from orgasming for more than two minutes... so he tries to make it last by me just laying there and being quiet in the dark. I hate myself when its over. I cut myself. I cry. I hate him. He makes me feel guilty for not wanting him. He took us to a psychologist that told me I was right for feeling the way that I do... but that I needed to "make the decision to love your husband again." Im so tired of it. We have two kids and I have no job. I am dependent on him completely. He moved me away from all of my friends and family so I have no support system here. Ive told him I want to go to school so that I can be a capable mother and then he and I need to split (after we figure out what to do with our joined bills and stuff). Is that fair? Is it reasonable? Why is everyone trying to force me to stay with him? Should I try harder? I cant seem to make myself let it go. I dont want to let it go. I resent him a lot. They provide an escape to my conscience and keep it busy. However in no means are they ?dream worlds? I slip into when the cold hard world is too much to take. Facing up to one?s problems is the best way to avoid regret and the best way to provide faster release. I always have my own back and a good grasp of reality. I?m quite content with myself and where I am in life. I have a great family, a consoling home, and unswerving friends. I enjoy hanging out and shopping as much as reading and writing. My favorite class in school is Gymnastics where I can loosen up and concentrate on the winning goal. I love my part time job as a coffee Barista for Starbucks, it often reminds me that I am independent and can survive outside of my parent?s allowances. I believe in reason and logic and tradition. I am swollen with pride of who I am. Loosing is never an option I would choose. I try my best to achieve my goal and never let small adversities stand in the way. I am determined because I have motivation. I always have motivation because I have pride and love competition. I don?t deem I will ever loose, and simply repudiate and loath loosing. Playing the violin is both a hobby and an artistic expression; During school I was awarded many orchestra excellence certificates and was in the String Ensemble, National Music Honor's Society: Tri-M and passed the level 6 New York NYSSMA with an A+ with the piece "Hoe Down" by Copland. Aside from my musical accomplishments, I was awarded with Principle?s List and Honor?s Roll certificates. I was in the Mu-Alpha Beta National Math Honor?s Society and the National Honor?s Society. I love the arts, including acting, plays, theater, movies, TV, poetry, stories, fine art, domestic art, modern art, and every other art out there. To put it short, I enjoy the finer things in life. To not have the finer things in life is to not have pleasure and therefore I am determine to be and do the best that I can, provided that I am blessed to have the education and needs that I have. My parent?s have always been an inspiration. Over the years, they?ve managed to own a expensive house in Long Island, (being immigrants themselves and speaking poor English at first) and support a family of 5 with very few times where the wants and needs aren?t met. They have always been there for me and I know I can always count on them. These days, I?m looking for answers to questions. I love learning and learning about what I love. My main goal though is to be wise and knowledgeable. I am fascinated with myself and what I am made up of -why my body and mind functions the way they do. For that reason, the biologic and health fields has a great allure. I believe learning is valuable and beneficial both physically and spiritually. It?s a win-win situation. (more...)
