Based on Nicholas Sparks' novel, director Nick Cassavetes film spins the bittersweet tale of a 60-year romance, as seen from the polar perspectives of its promising youth and the travails of an old age cursed by Alzheimer's. Its soundtrack effectively echoes those polar dramatic concerns, with composer Aaron Zigler's gentle orchestral score largely giving voice to the character's melancholy present, while a rich, well-chosen slate of vintage material by Billie Holiday, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller imparts a restless energy to their youth. There's a certain schmaltz to much of Zigman's work here, yet cues like "House Blues/The Porch Dance.." and "Noah's Journey" argue he's achieved something more elusive than mere melodramatic wallpaper with the deceivingly difficult task at hand; it can't be easy to have your work seasoned with the likes of Ellington's sassy "Alabamy Home" and Goodman's still-vibrant "One O'Clock Jump." Sharply contrasting versions of "I'll Be Seeing You" by Holiday and Jimmy Durante bookend the soundtrack, perfectly evoking the story's alternating shades of hope and fading nostalgia and framing Zigman's understated work in the bargain. --Jerry McCulley

Mickey's Magical Christmas - Snowed in at the House of Mouse
Though promoted as a "full length holiday movie," this is more of a TV Christmas special spinoff from Disney's new series, House of Mouse. The premise is something like an animated Muppet Show: Mickey, Goofy, and Donald run a nightclub for an audience of Disney characters, with plenty of songs, skits, and cartoons. There's not much story to this holiday special--Mickey whips up an impromptu party for stranded guests and instills a "Humbug"-quacking Donald with the holiday spirit--but it's full of sight gags and comic bits with dozens of Disney characters, from Ludwig von Duck to Pumba and Timmon. The special begins with the short Pluto's Christmas Tree and ends with the entire 1983 short film Mickey's Christmas Carol. However, the highlight is a comic retelling of The Nutcracker with Donald as a reluctant Mouse King (complete with phony Mickey Mouse ears) and John Cleese as the exasperated narrator. The special is utterly unmemorable as a whole, but nonetheless bright, light, and cute and sure to keep the attentions of young tots. --Sean Axmaker

Im 20years old and have a beautiful little 9month old girl names Alannah(pronounced Alana), a 2year old cat named Lilley and a wonderful fiance 27years old named Dennis. We want a small dog because we live in a 2bedroom apartment in the city and it wouldnt be fair otherwise to the dog. I am a stay at home mom/house wife and Dennis works during the days. Would a Chihuahua be a good choice for our family?

Open Question: feel stuck. feel like i cant catch a break. any advice?
Basically, Im in college without a high school diploma. I could've got it during the summer by making up my classes, but then my counselor told me to just take a class at our local city college thats the same as what i need to make up and just transfer what my grade was from the city college. Me being such a "dont know what to do" guy.. I ended up registering late and taking 1 class. Luckily that 1 class can help me get closer to getting my diploma cause i need to make up that class (gov).
Later on, bad stuff at home happened, got kicked out. Missed a good 2 weeks of school and when things cooled down, I asked my teacher if i can come back and if my grades fine. He said yes, i came back, did the work, and then winter break comes. i check my grade and i got a D!!! A HIGH "D" too!!!
Im so disappointed in myself. I cant seem to catch a break anywhere. High school was a disaster. Education wise and having so much bull** going on through my last year.. SENIOR year... family problems, girl problems. I couldnt catch a break. I felt like i had no one. Things at home were shaky, the girl who i turned to and loved kept going against me. Etc. etc. I let go of my grades. Failed 3 classes. Luckily they let me walk the stage still. And i could get my diploma anyways.
So thats the "highlight" of my senior year in high school (not even mentioning all the commotion that went on junior year).
Now im in college. Still far away from that diploma. My g/f is upset with that and dosent "know anymore" cause im messing up in my grades again. I told her i was stupid for letting things get to me my senior year and messing my grades up. And now she thinks im just goina keep screwing up. My relationship with my parents is better now, but we have some baaaaad money issues. Sometimes i feel like God's just picking on me.
I dont know. its just like problem after problem. I just feel like i cant catch a break. Even though my parents and I have had a lot of bad times, i just dont want to add another disappointment to the book. I came up short on passing that class. a high grade of a D! all i needed was that few few percent. If i just didnt get kicked out of my house and missed some school days..
I dont know.. I seriously feel so lost. Dont know what to do in my life. its just like 1 bad thing after another. AND i kind of have some sensitive skin when it comes to some damn foods or detergents...
Sorry guys if this is so long, just needed to vent it out.. I just feel like i cant get anything good going for me. Once i do.. something has to go bad. if its not my parents, its my gf, if its not my gf its school, if its not school its something else.
I know everybody has problems, but iono mines just keeps stacking up. Yeah im a guy and all but damn.. this stuff gets me emotional when i end up thinking about it. yeah i tear every now and then when i think about all this. no shame.
well, i just dont know what to do..

Open Question: My dad cheated on my mum and now i hate him?
I was at my friends house then my mum called and said she was coming home in 30 minutes, so by that time she wanted me home, my friends house was about 7 minutes away, when i got home i went up to my room and went past my parents room and found my mums sister ( my auntie ) and my dad having sex & my dad saw me and started saying that he wasnt doing anything wrong ect. i hate him its been two days so far and im not talking to him. i dont want to ruin my mums life by saying anything but i feel i should tell her.
what should i do would it just be best if i told her?

Open Question: Are most people usually like this after a separation or divorce? (yeah, long).?
My ex-husband and I separated (well, he left me to go sleep with two of his step-sisters) when I was 6 months pregnant... when our son was 4 months old, he moved back in with us, and I tried to forgive him...well a month and a half later, he had already cheated on me and left me for a girl he had just met at his new job and moved in with her right away! He also cleared out MY personal account that had the money intended for our child's daycare -- and no, it wasn't "OUR" money, he hadn't contributed to our couple or our child financially EVER, and hadn't even been paid yet at his new job. I am the one that had to be responsible financially for our son, I'm the one that went out, got my old job back and supported my son and I.
So, I wasn't going to forgive him again, and he actually asked the other girl to marry him two months after he had left me -- with no divorce being filed. After 3 months together, she told him she wanted to have his child, after 6 months together they were pregnant. He, not once, helped out financially for our son, and had threatened to have me beaten up, to take away my son(no way he could ever had done that), to kidnap our son, etc. I've had to file a protective order against him.
After I filed for divorce, he calmed down a bit, and we managed to have a custody agreement signed (Giving me sole legal, his supervised access for a few months then every other weekend and some christmas and summer vacation time...).
So that's the background... NOW, his girlfriend told him I can't call him anymore. Mind you, I only called about our son, to arrange visits, or to tell him he was sick. I don't want the idiot back, and they know that. But... Why in the world does my ex-husband let his GIRLFRIEND call all the shots when it comes to our child? She's had him cancel some weekends with the child, tried to fake that I was harassing her (I sent my ex an email, telling him to STOP hitting on me (he even actually tried to cheat on her, with me! the idiot...) when picking up or dropping off our son, or that I'd let his gf know what he was doing, that it wasn't right... Well, she saw the email in his inbox, sent it to herself, deleted it from his inbox, and then claimed high and low that I had sent it to HER... and he believed her. Thing is... I proved to him who I sent the email to, and at what time (I work for the government, everything is logged)... and STILL she keeps saying that if I call her or contact her in any way, she's suing me for harassment, a protective order and that they'd try to deem me as an unfit mom.. WTF?! I've never contacted her...
But, he lives with her, so now, I can't even call my ex-husband when it comes to our child.
Why does he do all of this? He said he wants what's best for our child, yet can't communicate with his child's mother. I've been nice, supportive, I only talk about our son, and have only his best interests in mind -- I might hate the dude, but my son will never know that.
They now claim that because my son wears second-hand shoes received from my brother and my cousin (both pairs only worn by one child each, for about 2-3 months), I'm unfit, irresponsible, don't care about my son's well-being. If my son is a bit sick and he has him, he used to call to yell at me, calling me a irresponsible mom because I let my sick son leave home. If he's too sick and I say no, I'm a b*tch because I'm trying to break "the bond between father and child". There's no "winning" here.
Why does he let her call all the shots, why does he keep insulting me, then saying he's sorry and saying I'm a good mom, why does he take all his anger from his problems at home (he regrets cheating on me, the divorce, getting her pregnant, has said so may times, but says he has to stay 'cause he doesn't want to hurt her...bullshit..), and then get angry at me?
I'm only trying to co-parent, yet his gf says I'm not allowed to call at their house, and I have no other place to reach him. I had a child with my ex-husband, this girl KNEW it before she slept with him, knew we were married, living together and had a newborn... bt now, it seems to be a problem for her, why? She already has my husband and hell, she can keep him, but WHY in the world is someone so mean when it comes to a child? She won't look after him, yet claims she loves him liker her own. She threatens me through my ex, yet I've never talked to her. She insists she HAS to be there at MY home (in the car) for pick-up and drop-off, yet tells him im not allowed to call. Why does my ex lets himself be manipulated like that?
I don't want him back, but all of this is going to affect our son in the long run, and it breaks my heart
My focus is on my child. And I do know that at some point, he's going to wonder.
My ex used to be strong-willed, abusive towards me, not lettting me breath... I'm just wondering now (maybe it's Karma), why he's the one that's on a leash. and why he's letting someone else decide for him when it comes to our child. I'm going to be the one picking up the pieces, consolling our son when his dad don't pick him up.
Child support is ordered, though its 216 a months and he's only been paying the last 4 months... but apparently she told him he's going to have to get it reduced because THEY are having a child and that family has to come first.
How can someone let himself be manipulated that way?
I've recently begun dating a wonderful man who doesn't mind I have to talk to my ex, who encourages me to try and co-parent with him, an who only wants the best for me and my son who he hasn't even met yet. Why, after a YEAR, can't she do the same for her boyfriend?

Open Question: Is this home movie worth anything due to Bruce Lee being in it?
An old home movie shows me whipping Bruce Lee's rear end in a bar fight. Bruce walked up to me and said "Due yooo not like the way I uh look? I said "I don't like the way you look at me" and with that I knocked Bruce 10 feet and he fell to the floor. He jumped up and tried to round house me but I grabbed his leg and I threw him to the floor then I hit him 25 times in three seconds and gave him a kick to the face standing 6 inches away from him. This was caught on film (My friend was trying out a new movie camera.) Then I jumped over Bruce and kicked him on the top of his head. He went down and begged for mercy. I only stopped because some woman named Linda begged me to stop.

Open Question: Really confused about home buying process?
My husband and I were pre-approved for 125,000 . On Dec 24th we made an offer on a house for 113,000 and the sellers accepted it that day. We gave our earnest money, turned in income verification, had our credit report ran,had income verification, had the house appraisal, the title search,the inspection,got a good faith estimate,secured home owners insurance.We were told that all their loans are locally processed, underwritten, and closed by their own company. Heres my question a loan processor collected all of our information that the branch manger told us we needed (the branch manager is the lady we are working with) now does all this go to an underwriter? Is a loan processor the same as an underwriter and how much longer will it take to find out if our mortgage is approved.
they also had my husbands employment verified, hes been with the Army 15 years so far, we are using the VA loan

Open Question: Should I go into town today?
I've been stuck in bed since Saturday with a bladder/kidney infection and I'm going out of my mind, can't stop running to the toiled and I'm still in a bit of pain but I have to get out the house before I go crazy.
Do you think I should go into town for a little while just to get out? or should I stay at home and continue to rest? I've took the whole week of work and have had countless message from colleagues asking when I'll be back, a little concerned I might not get my bonus this month because I won't have 100% attendance,
Do you think I'll still get it if I take in my doctors certificate?
