Open Question: VW Polo '99 Idling speed issue when the car is moving.?
Hello all. I will start this off with the initial problem I have with my car. Initially, the car would jerk, like it was gasping for fuel, around the 1800-2800 rpm range if I pull off slowly. I then took my car to the local garage and they did some work on it, and connected up a tester to the car, and found no fault. They cleaned the throttle body, and then reset the parameters on the throttle. Ever since I got the car back now, another problem has cropped up, and they never fixed the jerkiness when gently accelerating. If the car is in motion, and i put the car into neutral (Manual) and take my feet off all the pedals, the car will rev anywhere between 1200-1800rpm, mostly depending on the speed the car is moving. This unusual rev will cease once the car comes to a full and complete stop. If I drive slowly and coast all the way to a stop without braking (or even with braking) the car rev's higher than normal idle speed, then goes back to 900rpm upon it becoming stationery. So I sent the car back to the same garage, and all of a sudden, there was a fault code (I wish I could remember it, something like air valve intake parameters exceeded). They reset the throttle once more, and no joy. Someone down the road recommended I disconnected the speedometer cable, and sure enough, the problem ceases. The engine returns to the correct idling speed while in motion, in neutral. This tip was from an amateur car enthusiast, and the garage people were completely stumped... Now, I dont really want to drive the car without knowing my speed, so I'm reluctant to even take the car out of the driveway. The guy down the road said I should drive the car without the speedometer connected until it cuts out. (This is the part that is seriously worrying me, I dont want to drive the car if it could cut out on me. Could this even happen?). He then said that I should reconnect the speedometer cable to the engine and the problem should solve itself. The guys at the garage also said I have to do varied driving for quite a few miles (between 50 and 100) for the engine to understand the new throttle locations, as its original memory had been cleared to try alleviate this other problem I have. Open Question: after sex came lower stomach cramps and pink spotting...what is it?
Hi! well, my husband and i had sex last night. While we were going at it, i felt a lot of air getting pushed inside (don't want to be too graphic but after doggy style, that always happens to me.) so, i didn't think much of it. Then, right after we were done, i got a huge cramp on my lower stomach. a few minutes later, another one. I tried going to the bathroom but after about an hour or so of cramps, it went away. Well, today i felt nothing until about 5 minutes ago when i got a huge cramp again so i rushed to the bathroom and i was only able to pee but when i cleaned, i had this pinkish/brownish goo in the toilet (sorry!) what could be wrong? by the way, i had my period like usual on the 24th and hadn't had sex until last night. Open Question: another question about science projects?
I need you opinion again, please!!! I found 3 projects I'm considering, but my teacher wants it to be at, or above grade level. So here are the projects, and please just tell me your opinion of the grade level for each project, so I can determine which project to do. Thank you!!!!!! Project 1: Do white candles burn faster than colored candles? Basically, you just buy a white candle and different colored candles, same size and brand, light them at the same time and time them to see how long each one takes to burn. Project 2: How does light affect plant growth? Also another variation of this one is How does the intensity of light affect plant growth? A quick summary of this project is you just have plants and you put them in cardboard boxes and you have lamps (for the 1st project, different color bulbs, for the 2nd variation, different watts) over the boxes. Then you see which one grew the most. Project 3: Invisible Seeds. This one is about bacteria. A quick way to summarize this one is you have tomato soup in 6 different cups and to make bacteria, you put bread crumbs in one, touch the floor and put your finger in another cup (do the same with a clean and dirty finger), expose one to air for 1/2hr., and the control group. Then you just watch and write down observations of the bacteria that's growing. So I would just like you to please tell me your opinion for the grade level for all of these projects. Open Question: Are these items any value to a pawnshop? If so how much?
I was cleaning my house and came across a few items i don't need. I have a porter cable air tool n125a, new never opened. I also have two accordions; one is a rondelli, the other is a universal, both are in good condition, but used. I'm not aware of the model numbers. Open Question: My husband and I are now living with his parents for two weeks. The only problem I have is that they smoke.?
I am not a smoker and don't understand why they give me dirty looks if I tell my 4 year old daughter to go to the next rrom when they light up a cigarette. Today as I walked pass my mother in law's room I noticed that my daughter was in there. My mother in law asked if there was a problem with her being there and I told her, "Well I don't want her to be around the smoke." She then said,"I haven't smoked in a while and I have a machine that cleans the air." I then just walked away with my daughter and went into my room for the rest of the night. My in laws smoke a pack a day. One stays in the room all day. Isn't it bad for my daughter to be there? Was I wrong for speaking up for my child? I don't want any problems between all of us. Open Question: Is there a way to stop or atleast REALLY slow down dust buildup?
Ok so I live by myself and hate cleaning up! I hate being cluttered with things and I hate having a dirty house. Dust builds up on everything and especially builds up faster on the tv, surround sound, computer etc. Obviously dust will build up after time but is there any kind of product that slows the build up of dust whether its a fan of some sort, chemical or even humidifier?? Also Im going to build a cabinet recessed in the wall for all the electronic type things that go with my tv. Im going to put a glass door on it and ill have a little gap between door and frame for air to come in and out of. Does dust build up inside closed in areas like cabinets that have electronics in it. And if so should I put a fan to suck air/dust out of it on back side of cabinet since the backside will be in my garage? Or should I try and make it as air tight as possible and just make the cabinet a little bigger so the walls and shelves aren't right against the electronics? (more...)

Open Question: nvidia 7150m not preforming as well as when first gotten?
here is my story: i bought an hp dv2845se with the nvidia 7150m IGP around June 2007. i installed a few games and programs on it, and they all preformed pretty well. i got star wars battlefront 2 on it as well. Battlefront 2 worked on it flawlessly, i had atmospheric lighting, AA x2 and was running it at fairly high resolution (1100 x 700 or something like that). i did notice it getting fairly hot around these times, but i always had it on a counter or surface so it would get some degree of air. lately, however, i have noticed that it can barley play games that it played with ease before. i can barely run BF2 without getting 10-12 fps AT BEST. so i tried getting the latest drivers, and that did seem to help a bit, but didn't have much of an affect overall. for instance it played spore fairly well when it came out, but now spore stutters at the lowest res and everything. LAME. my friend's old inspiron 8200 laptop runs the halo trial waaaaay much better than mine does. so i thought to myself that either somethign went wrong or i have strange background tasks clogging stuff up. i got rid of many backround processes and defragged and cleaned my hard drives, still with almost no effect. i tuned down the 3d options in nvidia control panel so it was much closer to performance not quality, but it seems to have no effect. i KNOW this isn't a gaming laptop/card AT ALL, but it managed to play these games fine before and now they barely work. can someone please help me? what is going on? is it fixable? Open Question: Hockey equipment exposed to mice. Cleanable?
Hey everyone, I played hockey until i was 17 and since then have only played a few times. This past summer/winter I moved and stored my hockey equipment in my shed which was supposedly air tight and mouse free according to the previous owners and I found no tracings of mice or a way in for them. I went out yesterday to grab my skates and gloves for a pick-up game and found my bag had been eaten through by mice and there were droppings inside of my bag. All of my equipment now stinks of mice (and droppings) and I know this carries a number of serious health risks. I am not worried about the rest of my equipment as I have outgrown it anyways however my question is, is there any way that I can clean my gloves and skates so the smell will be gone and more importantly they will be safe to use? There is also no professional cleaning service anywhere withing 4 hours of here so this is not an option. They are very expensive skates and gloves (800$ Graf's and 200$ Mission's) and to have to throw them out would be a shame. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated! Thanks! (more...)

Open Question: How to get rid of chemical fumes in my room caused by bathroom cleaner product?
I was using Lysol Bathroom 4-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner to replace the bleach we ran out of to clean the mold and mildew around my bedroom windows. BAD MISTAKE. My walls are ofcourse wood and painted, and I think I'm afraid that maybe the wood could have possibly absorbed the chemical. I tried ventilating the room two tiems, all day, but the chemical stench is still there. It's really irritating and toxic, I got some of the symptoms of toxic poisoning as I tried sleeping in my room (like burning eyes, nostrils sting, headache, a little blurred vision, hard to breathe air, etc). I haven't slept in my room since that night! Does anyone know how I can get rid of the chemicals in my room? I was thinking about trying to rinse it off? With rags and lemon juice? Or bar soap? I don't know what to do I can still smell it its been more than 3 days.. i just have regular walls (whatever they are made of? I think plaster and wood, with paint over it) (more...)
