Catch Me If You Can
Catch Me If You Can Steven Spielberg veered from the futuristic sci-fi flirtations of A.I. and Minority Report with this brisk, stylish period take on the career of teen con-man extraordinaire Frank Abagnale (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his dogged G-man pursuer/de facto extended family member Carl Hanratty (Tom Hanks). As always, the director's musical collaborator is John Williams, and the scoring legend uses the occasion of their 20th collaboration as a rewarding musical journey back to the days when he was known as Johnny Williams, ambitious young pianist for Henry Mancini on such early jazz scores as Peter Gunn. Informed by a half-century of subsequent achievement, Williams's return to the jazz idiom of his youth yields a smart, nervous score that evokes more than mere nostalgia. But with Dan Higgins's moody sax often leading the way, the veteran composer's work here seems more evocative reinvention than revisitation, yet another tribute to his uncanny ability to make any idiom his own. A handful of pop standards (including Sinatra's "Come Fly with Me," Getz and Gilberto's "Girl from Ipanema," "The Christmas Song" by Nat "King" Cole) deftly color both period and plot, but, as always, it's Williams who provides Spielberg's masterful imagery with its musical life's blood. --Jerry McCulley

Enchanted (Full Screen Edition)
Enchanted (Full Screen Edition) Life is idyllic in the fairytale world where conflict is minimal and breaking into song solves every problem, but what happens when a princess from the fairy world gets magically transported into the real world? Enchanted begins in the animated fairytale world of Andalasia where Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) is destined to marry Prince Edward (James Marsden) and live happily ever after. Problem is, Edward's step-mother Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) doesn't want to give up the throne and will do anything to get Giselle out of Edward's life. Queen Narissa's solution is to push Giselle into a well that magically lands Giselle smack in the middle of the real world--the center of Time Square in New York City, to be exact. This launches the live-action portion of the film where Giselle immediately realizes that things are frighteningly different in this new world and that she is ill-prepared for the callous ways of the people who inhabit it. Giselle finds herself alone on a stormy night in the wrong end of town, but a chance encounter with Robert (Patrick Dempsey) and his princess-loving daughter Morgan (Rachel Covey) leads to a warm, safe place to spend the night and the beginnings of a complicated, yet compelling relationship. As Giselle begins to question the fairy-tale truths she's always inherently believed, Robert's outlook on life and love also begins to change significantly. Parallels to the classic Disney fairytales, Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty abound in the form of a King's and Queen's ball, small animals and rodents who clean house when called, the threat of poisoned apples, characters impulsively breaking into song, and the power of the kiss of true love and the absurd juxtaposition of fairytale idealism and stark reality is hilariously funny. Features music by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz of Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame fame, Wicked's Broadway Elpheba Idina Menzel as Nancy, and even a brief appearance by former Princess voice talent Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas). Enchanted is one of the best, most entertaining Disney films of the year. (Ages 6 and older with parental guidance due to some scary images and mild innuendo) --Tami Horiuchi

The Lincoln Lawyer
The Lincoln Lawyer Best-selling author Michael Connelly, whose character-driven literary mysteries have earned him a wide following, breaks from the gate in the over-crowded field of legal thrillers and leaves every other contender from Grisham to Turow in the dust with this tightly plotted, brilliantly paced, impossible-to-put-down novel.

Criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller's father was a legendary lawyer whose clients included gangster Mickey Cohen (in a nice twist, Cohen's gun, given to Dad then bequeathed to his son, plays a key role in the plot). But Dad also passed on an important piece of advice that's especially relevant when Mickey takes the case of a wealthy Los Angeles realtor accused of attempted murder: "The scariest client a lawyer will ever have is an innocent client. Because if you [screw] up and he goes to prison, it'll scar you for life."

Louis Roulet, Mickey's "franchise client" (so-called becaue he's able and willing to pay whatever his defense costs) seems to be the one his father warned him against, as well as being a few rungs higher on the socio-economic ladder than the drug dealers, homeboys, and motorcycle thugs who comprise Mickey's regular case load. But as the holes in Roulet's story tear Mickey's theory of the case to shreds, his thoughts turn more to Jesus Menendez, a former client convicted of a similar crime who's now languishing in San Quentin. Connelly tellingly delineates the code of legal ethics Mickey lives by: "It didn't matter...whether the defendant 'did it' or not. What mattered was the evidence against him--the proof--and if and how it could be neutralized. My job was to bury the proof, to color the proof a shade of gray. Gray was the color of reasonable doubt." But by the time his client goes to trial, Mickey's feeling a few very reasonable doubts of his own.

While Mickey's courtroom pyrotechnics dazzle, his behind-the-scenes machinations and manipulations are even more incendiary in this taut, gripping novel, which showcases all of Connelly's literary gifts. There's not an excess sentence or padded paragraph in it--what there is, happily, is a character who, like Harry Bosch, deserves a franchise series of his own. --Jane Adams

Open Question: Would anyone please read my short story and give me reviews?
THE RE-BLOODENING copyright 2009 by Dr. Malpractice ------------ Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away called Middle Earth, there was a hill made out of skeletons. A family lived on top of the hill, in a house built from Oak Wood and the tanned hide of a wolf. They were called the Adams Family, and they had a daughter named Alessa Gillespie, but that was because they could, and because people back then didn't really care about last names or the risk of copyright infringement because Konami didn't exist yet and no one had ever heard of a video game or movie called Silent Hill, so any lawyers who are reading this should just die because they aren't wanted here. Anyway, the Adams Family was awesome, and they had a Prius, powered by a combination of gasoline, electricity, and the blood of their enemies. They frequently went down to town to feed, because they were related to Dracula somehow, even though they lived in North Carolina and not Transylvania. They would bite people, and sometimes, they would also eat asparagus, which was good for their kidneys. Anyway, one night, they bit a guy and he kind of freaked out, because he wasn't a very understand kind of person. So, he hit them with a rake. They were okay, but there was a lot of blood, because violence helps to sell stories. Because it was vampire blood, the gore turned into monsters, which were kind of like dragons, only made out of blood, and they breathed Medieval War Axes, because that's awesome. For twenty years, the war continued, until the world was naught but ash... A hero had to emerge from the ashes of the fallen world, and so, from the remnants of Vault 101, closed forever, or so it seemed, a hero emerged. His name was Dr. Malpractice. Dr. Malpractice took his gun with a chainsaw attached to it, which is a totally unique idea, and gored the gore monsters. There was so much gore it was like the world was made out of gore because of all the gore. Then Borat appeared, and talked about Kazakhstan a little. In the end, everyone learned an important lesson: The smallest lifeforms on Earth, the microbes which we live amongst every day, were the only things which could bring down the Martians I forgot to mention because I was too busy describing something about blood monsters which was all actually a dream Stephanie Meyer had before she wrote about crap. Resolved Question: Do You Think I'll Get An A On This?
Its for my history class. im doing my report on Alexander Hamilton, oh, and im in 7th grade. Do You Think I'll Get an A? When we think of Alexander hamilton, what do we think of? A ten dollar bill? No, Hamilton was not a president, but he was so much more then the guy on the ten. Alexander Hamilton was born in approximately 1757 in the West Indian Island of Nevis. His parents were Rachel Lavien and James Hamilton. It is said that he spent most of his youth as a clerk; and that in 1772, he was sent to New York by his guardian, and the merchant, Nicholas Cruger. Hamilton was originally supposed to enroll at the New Jersey college, but when denied permission to accelerate the program of his studies, he was enrolled at the college in New York. In 1774-75, Hamilton, who was not yet twenty, entered the growing disagreement between the American colonies and the British Government by writing many pamphlets filled with ideas of rebellion and rights obtained from the philosopher John Locke. Hamilton?s desire was action, so he enlisted in the militia and fought in battles around New York City. His zeal led him to George Washington?s attention. Hamilton served with Washington for about four years. In time, Hamilton led a large number of New York troops at the Battle of Yorktown in October 1781. In December of 1780, Hamilton married Elizabeth Schuyler, daughter of the wealthy General Philip Schuyler. This connection placed Hamilton in the center of New York society. Well before his 30th birthday, Hamilton had a well-known military career, knew most of the leaders of the American Revolution, and was recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the country. In 1782, Hamilton was elected a member of the Continental Congress. With John Jay and James Madison, Hamilton wrote a series of papers urging the people of New York to approve the new constitution. His essays became classic statements of his political philosophy of strong leadership in the public interest. In June to July of 1788, Hamilton and his allies defeated the previously in control anti-federal forces in the state. Hamilton was the obvious choice to be the first secretary of the treasury under the new constitution. He proposed to pay all of the nation?s debts By the time he retired from the Treasury Department in 1795, he had established the administrative and policy foundations of the new government. On leaving the government Hamilton resumed a busy law practice. He continued to have a strong influence in the public councils, however. Disappointed in President John Adam's erratic leadership, Hamilton opposed Adams's reelection in 1800. When it appeared, however, that Aaron Burr might win the presidency over Jefferson, Hamilton unhesitatingly threw his support to Jefferson, whose policies he scorned, rather than to Burr, whom he regarded as a man without principles. This frustrated Burr, so he challenged Hamilton to a duel. The two men fought at Weehawken, New Jersey on July 11, 1804. Hamilton fired into the air, but Burr took direct aim. Hamilton fell very wounded and died the next day in New York. He was buried in Trinity churchyard, New York City. He left his wife and seven children heavily in debt, but friends soon paid off the debts. Hamilton was mourned by his countrymen as one who had committed his life to the nation's growth in freedom and success. So Remember, Hamilton played an important role in our society, and he was so much more than the guy on the ten. When I put Jefferson in there, i meant adams, so ignore the jefferson part. I forgot to fix it...lol (more...)

Resolved Question: ok my eassy needs some1 to read it plz?
ok im 15 male dnt need correction just comments Duddy 1 ?Honesty is the first chapter of the book of wisdom? (pg 209). A man born in April 13, 1743 by the name of Thomas Jefferson said this quote. He was raised in a simple wooden house, which was located in Albemarle County, Virginia. This was along the banks of Rivanna River his parents were Jane Randolph and Peter Jefferson. Peter Jefferson, a self educated man of all trades. He was a mapmaker and a surveyor, who played a small part in establishing the border between North Carolina and Virginia. He later became Representatives of The House of Burgesses. Peter Jefferson died in 1757 at the age of 50. Jane Randolph Jefferson, Thomas? mother was born in London. She was also born into a noble bloodline. She had most of her royalty in Europe. A lot of her ancestors were also noble people. Jane died at a young age of 56. When Thomas Jefferson was old enough to attended school he went to Albemarle. Jefferson was a very smart kid. He excelled in many subjects, but science and mathematics was his best. Thomas Jefferson later went to college. He attended William and Mary in Williamsburg. This college, Jefferson said ?he never seen such a large town and college before?. (Pg 62) Close to this time Jefferson did not have any father figure to turn to after his father had died. In 1762 Jefferson finished college and started to study law. He also did many private studies making Jefferson a more qualified lawyer. He took classes from the general court. This man looked up cases for his seniors in the law library at the capital. Jefferson said it Duddy 2 was a very hard and time-consuming task to become a good lawyer. Knowledge of French and Latin was very necessary. He really did not think you needed math. This subject he said was considered as ?exercising the mind? (pg 68). Jefferson began to actually practice law before the age of 24. He continued to do this for another seven years. He never had a serious job before this. Thomas took his work very serious. June 9,1767 was Jefferson?s first case. Gordon (a seafaring man) vs. George Whyte (Thomas?s friend). His trials were not very exciting. The serious young lawyer had the opportunity to observe life. Jefferson had profited about 3,000 dollars a year. 1783 Jefferson was a member of the continental congress. When he turned 41 he was close from ending his legislative career. After all his hard work Jefferson was almost done with everything in the political sense. Later on in February 17, 1801 Thomas Jefferson would gain the title of president. This was a very hard race to poll out and win. His competitors in this race were Aaron Burr and John Adams. Right before they found the final outcome of the race. It was clear that Jefferson outpolled Adams and tied with Aaron Burr. Since this was a tie, it was given to the House of Representatives. Finally, after the long decision Thomas Jefferson was elected president. After two weeks of having the title president, Jefferson was sworn in as third president of the United States of America on March 4, 1801. His first inauguration would be held in Washington, DC. Jefferson was not a very effective public speaker. While doing his Duddy 3 speech everyone that gathered could not understand the concept he was trying to get across to the people. His decisions usually measured up more closely to federalist wants than to democratics-republician wants. Jefferson said, ?A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned? (pg 22). These were the great promises he was making with the people. One huge event took place while Jefferson?s first presidency, The Louisiana Purchase. His representatives signed a treaty stating that the United States would take from France the entire province of Louisiana. People say that this was the biggest news they heard while he was president. The first report said that the province extended to the ?highlights round the head of the Missouri. (Pg 284). This was also somewhat bigger than the whole of the United States. In 1805, Jefferson would come back and serve another term as president. This man was very popular and liked by many people that?s why he was kept another term. During his second term, Jefferson spent most of his time grieving for his personal losses. First was his loss of his daughter Polly, at the age of 24. Another loss of a very good fri didnt fit all of it but that was most of it let me know wat u think there is also indents for diff paragraphs but it didnt show up on this page srry (more...)

Resolved Question: Why won't he release his Birth Certificate?
OBAMA is USING TERRORIST'S LAWYER to Defend LAWSUIT Here come another of those "Guilt by Associations" that Senator Barack Obama will try to weasel himself out of. As you may know, Philip Berg is suing Senator Obama in Civil Court. Berg wants Obama to Produce his real birth certificate to prove that he meets the citizenship requirements to be President. Rather than just product the birth certificate (is he trying to hide something?) Obama's legal team filed a motion to dismiss. One of the Lawyers filing the motion was Joe Sandler (sandler@sandlerreiff.com) of the Washington law firm Sandler, Reiff, and Young (see the document below). If Mr. Sandler's name sounds familiar it Should. He is the Legal Hit Man for the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). CAIR is an organization with terrorist ties, and has been as an un-indicted co-conspirator in the Holyland Foundation Hamas Funding trial. Sandler's role for CAIR has been to stifle people from telling the truth about Islam. For example, last year he tried to get Jihad Expert Robert Spencer banned from speaking to the Young American Foundation, by using a threatening letter. Sandler followed up by threatening columnist Mike Adams for writing about the Spencer incident. Look, everyone deserves legal representation that is not the Issue. The real issue is why is a candidate for President of the United States, a guy who wants to take over the role of Commander-in-Chief in the war on terror, using the Lawyer for CAIR a group with terrorist connections, to represent him in a law suit? Once again the Junior Senator from Illinois leave us with questions and no answers. This court case has not been settled. He has not released his papers proving he is still not a citizen of Indonesia. The problem is When Obama went to Indonesia he became an Indonesian citizen. When he returned to the States, he never reversed his citizenship. He cannot hold citizenship in 2 countries. Anne 2- read above and you google it. (more...)

Resolved Question: Why is Obama using Joe Sandler, of the Washington law firm Sandler, Reiff, and Young to represent him?
Sandler is the legal hit-man for the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Sandler's role for CAIR has been to intimidate people who dare to expose the goals and actions of Islamofascists. For example, last year he tried to get Jihad expert Robert Spencer banned from speaking to the Young American Foundation by using a threatening letter. Sandler followed up by threatening columnist Mike Adams for writing about the Spencer incident. The question is, why would a guy who wants to assume the role of Commander-in-Chief select a lawyer with terrorist connections to represent him in a law suit? This is just another of those "guilt by associations" that Obama dismisses as a "distraction" and the mainstream media chooses to ignore. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=76933 Chronos-- that is only your opinion and I am spreading the word since the MSM won't.
