High quality reproduction of a historic map from the Civil War Map Collection from the Library of Congress. (most 1860s-1890s). Collection contains nearly 1,700 maps from the digital collections. Some are just from the era of the Civil War, while most are battlefield maps made during or soon after the end of the war. We currently list only those maps that are in the public domain. These maps vary significantly in image density, size, wear, visual appeal, and quality. We are in the process of digitally "cleaning up" these maps to try to restore them to the extent possible. HISTORY OF PHOTOCHROM PRINTS
The photochrom process was initially developed in Switzerland and was spelled without an "e", so the correct original spelling was actually "photochrom". Once the process was introduced in America, the "e" was added to aid pronunciation. A Photochrom is a color photo lithograph, produced from a black-and-white negative. The final prints were created using different color impressions from multiple lithographic stones. The stones used by the publisher Detroit Photographic Company were imported from Bavaria and coated with a special Syrian 'asphaltum' substance that would be chemically sensitized to light, put in contact with a photographic negative, exposed to the sun for up to several hours, then "developed" in oils of turpentine. A separate stone would be made for each color to be used. A minimum of four stones and as many as fourteen stones might be used for a given image.

Open Question: How do I change display settings on Rome Total War campaign map?
I just started playing Rome Total War 2 days ago and before my campaign map was with a more horizontal plan, which made it easier for me to see 3d and up close, and now, it's further way like its more from above that I'm watching, rather than closer to the ground and more 3d...
how do I change it back to being closer??
I've tried video settings, keyboard shortcuts and going to game sites for help but I just can't manage to change it!

Open Question: Can anyone give me all the information possible on the game Lord of the Rings: Conquest?
Mostly regarding Multiplayer, can someone give me a thorough explanation of what is to come and what I can expect. Like Medals, new maps, awards, weapon upgrades, etc...
Game releases very soon, so information should be out on many game magazines. I'm at school so I can't visit any sites.

Open Question: What would be the best way to get from New Roc City to New York City with a large group (using public transp.)?
Hello,
I am currentlly planning a Senior trip and we will be staying at New Roc City (33 Lecount Pl, New Rochelle, NY 10801). From there we will take a charter bus in the morning to a subway station (which will then take us to New York), but I have no idea which one to take!
All help is much appreciated. If anyone happens to know of an interactive site like Google Maps that takes into account subways (maybe Google Maps does, but I'm not sure).
