Open Question: Have i done the right thing to report my bf to the police , as he had indecent pics of kids on his laptop?
My boyfriend of 3 months , left his laptop open one night , and i looked because there was nothing on tv , and on it were quite a few very indecent pictures of young girls aged 7 - 14ish. i was so disgusted and confronted him about it , but he said he didnt know where they came from . i gave him 3 weeks to find out where they came from , but he done nothing about it . so i contacted the NSPCC - uk , and they informed the police. That night i was visited from the CID , and had to give a statment. i now cant sleep , cant eat or drink . have i done the right thing ? ..this is going to ruin his life , career, hel lose his job and car. he is a teacher you see , teaches music to primary schools in Scotland. and has very close contact with kids , doing lots of extra cirricular activities, and has private pupils who come to his flat for lessons . i cant believe what i saw , but he says they arent his. could someone please give me their opinion . thank you
Thank-you to all who answered ! your right i have done the right thing. Suppose its just daunting knowing how much my actions can affect lots of different peoples lives. But its the chance im taking , if it will make us one sick person less.

And to the person who said why did it take me 3 weeks? .. unless you have been in the situation , you cannot comment , you dream they pictures? .. think about it everytime you see a child, and im sorry my first instinct wasnt to call the police , this kinda thing needs thinking. if i called them that night , i woulda been crying , shaking , got a story muddled , and maybe who knows , fucked up the entire thing. i got my head straight , and done what i thought best.

Voting Question: I want to Move to Scotland from Canada What do I need to do, what Paper work must be done?
I am from western Canada and it has been my dream to move to scotland since I was young, its not to be soon as I understand it will take a long time for papers, but what would I need to do as I have never really left the country without my family. which city does anyone recommend? Glasgow or Edinburgh?( not sure if I spelled it right ) I only have a high school diploma would I need to upgrade my education. Is renting a better choice for my first time there until I settle in? I would like to bring my cat do they accept pets in most flats(apartments) in Scotland?

Resolved Question: Procedure for deposit return and and inventory?
When my tenants leave, I was going to carry out a full inventory check with them there (if they wanted to be there) give them their deposit back once they show me proof of payment of electricity and gas. This presumably will be within a week and will give me time to check the inventory in full. I am sure this is standard practice in UK - is this right? There are also a couple of issues with the flat (see earlier question I uploaded and the 'hoover' problem) so I don't want to end up in one of those ' Yes you did' 'No I didn't' arguments which just go round and round..... I would rather go away with the inventory with notes as appropriate (presumably with input from them) and then make a decision. I do not want to rip these guys off but I don't think they are going to give up the hoover or its cost lightly!
(I am in Scotland so I don't think the tenant deposit scheme is obligatory although it is recommended I think)

I'll be coming to Scotland in about 3-4 months from now. I want to know which city should I consider living & working. I am coming on a work VISA, Please tell me the cheapest city with good work opportunity. Also if someone can mention how much does it cost to live in Scotland. I know it depends on individual taste but if someone can give me a general idea if me & my wife will be travelling. We want to rent a 1-2 bedroom flat & plan to use public transport.

Resolved Question: How to get out of bed in a very cold room?
Ok, I live in scotland in a rented flat, its mid-winter, and I have no double glazing, its a ground floor flat, and I can only afford to put the heating on for a few hours a day.
So, this winds up the the flat sitting at about 5-10 degrees when i try to get out of bed.
As you can imagine this is not particularly successful, as as soon as i leave the bed the cold hits me an makes me fall asleep again.
So, any ideas what i can do to combat this WITHOUT spending any money?

Voting Question: Is this sexual assault?
I am sixteen and last night me and my friend stayed over at my boyfriends uncles house ( with out my boyfriend), we get along really well with him. But last night he started tryin to kiss my friend, he's 39 and she's 17 , she felt really uncomfortable and left. Then i decided to go to bed and he said he was goin to come sleep beside me because he had no duvet on his bed...he took his top off and then started hugging me, and i felt so uncomfortable, i totally tensed up then we started kissing and i was saying no. Then he started fingering me and went down below and i had to like push him off. I was sitting on the bed curled up cryin and he's all "do you feel dirty?" and i was like "how could you do that to your nephew?"
He then decided to go to sleep and told me to pretend what had happened was a bad dream. I ended up sneaking out his flat and going to get my friend.
I feel really horrible, as if i did something wrong...? Did i??
What should i do?
