Open Question: question about connecting to xbox live using a laptop.?
Ok so i was on youtube and i was looking through vids of how to connect to xbox live using your laptop, the person told e to connect your ethernet cable to your laptop followed by connecting it to your xbox. So i did that and it said it didnt work so i watched the rest of the video and it told me to press start then go to network then click on network and sharing centre then click on manage network connections then to click on your wireless network connection that gives internert to your computer then go to properties then click the sharing tab and check the boxes "allow other users to connect through this users internet connection" so i checked the box and clicked apply(after you clicked apply the video said it would connect to xbox live and everything would be fine) but it didnt. it said "an error occoured while internet sharing was enabling" so i need to know how to make it not say the error occoured..any ideas....i really want xbox live and it getting me really frustrated...btw i use windows vista thanks for your help and just send me an email or post on this if you need any questions. Resolved Question: bloody land lord and property manager !?
my hubby got a electric shock from our air conditioner 3 days ago so it has been off ever since, also the circuit box is filling up with water (water + electricity= dead) and it has been 34-40 degrees for a few days and that is bloody hot with no air cooler, anyway i tryed ringing the owner several times but he will not answer the phone, we have contacted the property manager 4 times still wont return calls or send anyone out ! i have a 7 month old and have to go to the shopping centre for a couple of hrs each day so she can cool down i think this is a disgrace that they will not do something ASAP i told them first thing i have a 7 month old and she can not live without a air coolier in this heat. what should i do ? i just brought 4 portable fans for her but that only cools you if you right in front of them, im on breaking point now and need help. i have no family or friends here so i can not take her anywhere else during the day. Open Question: This is a couple of short questions on lasers from sample papers. If you can help me with any id be grateful?
Equations would be very helpful. 1) A laser is required to emit equal intensity light from each end for a specialised application. If the laser is 0.3m long, has a gain of 3m-1 and scattering of 0.2 per transit, determine the mirror reflectivity's needed for it to just oscillate. 2) A rare doped glass fibre amplifier, with refractive index 1.5, is 20m long has a gain bandwidth of 30nm around 1.5um. If it is converted into a laser, about how many longitudinal modes would you expect to observe in its output. 3) The irradiance of a TEMoon beam from a laser is measured to be 10kW/m2 at a point on its spot size radius. Calculate the irradiance at the centre of the beam. 4) A laser is required to have a coherence length of 4km for use in an interferometric gravitational wave detector. Calculate the maximum allowable linewidth this laser could have and indicate briefly an arrangement which would ensure suitable mode properties in the laser. 5) A diode laser has an output power of 10mW when a forward current of 40mA flows. This increases linearly to 25mW for a forward current of 60mA. Calculate the threshold pumping current of this laser. 6) A pulsed XeCl laser is used to photoablate polyester where a molecule requires one photon of UV light for dissociation. Each pulse from the laser carries 50mJ of energy at a wavelength of 308nm. Assuming 70% dissociation efficency, how many polyester molecules are removed per laser pulse. 7) Brackets are underscript letters The bandgap, E(g) of GAl(x)As(1-x) varies as E(g)eV=1.42+1.25x + 0.27x^2. Can this material be used to make a laser operating at 980nm and if so, what is its compostition. 8) A Silicon photodiode has a quantum efficiency of 0.9 at 800nm. Calculate the responsivity Rwavelength in AW^-1 of this photodiode 9) Using reasonable approximate values of important parameters, estimate how many telephone conversations could be carried on an optically amplified link at present. Voting Question: why does this country permit alcohol to be drunk?
Alcohol causes so many problems to a human being, headaches, stomach aches, kills brains cells, gives liver cancer, it also causes many problems to society, puts one in an unstable state where they can not control themselves and can act miliciously to other human beings, get in a car and kill someone or themself, deface public property, and note that it can effect soicety even more deeply, to put a drunken person in prison or holding costs tax payers money, oney that could better be spent, when police have to patrol certain areas know to have a high drunken rate this costs tax payers money and also detains police from doing there job elswhere. It can be the cause of domestic violence, adultery which can lead to even more problems, a kid not knowing there father, and this can effect him tremendously without a male role model, i ask you why not cut the problem off by the root in the form of a detterant, no alcohol, if we where to ask our political leaders, what would there arguement be? there is no strong arguement against it. In the 1920's america tried to ban alcohol, they did it for a short time but failed, in this time there where many deaths by police and also where people tried to make there own alcohol, eventually the american governent couldnt do it and allowed the consumption of alcohol, doesnt it feel degrading as a human being to not even be able to control yourself in a drunken state, doesnt it feel degrading as a human being to be dependent on such a thing? Now theese countires that so often claim to be chrisitan countires dont seem to read there bibles, considering there being many copies, im not all that suprised, but check this out, "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging; and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." [Proverbs 20:1] "And be not drunk with wine." [Ephesians 5:18] Alcohol inhibits the inhibitory centre, this basically is the part of the brain that keeps you from doing wrong and it gets switched off with the consumption of alcohol, basically you turn into an animal, a little devil, note that most alcoholics started as social drinkers and it only takes one time to get drunk to do something you will regret for the rest of youre life, earn some pride, is this how people have fun to become so intoxicated they dont even know who they are, are yuou that insecure that you have to teporarily loose youre memory to do something brave? I would go so far as to say if a religion allows the consumption of alcohol then this is not a religion from God and if a way or social structure allows the consumption of alcohol then there is a huge whole in this structure that will leak with the remains of drunken, disturbed and unguided nation seemingly hoping for peace in society but fueling its downfall. A pinch of prevention is worth an ounce of cure. (more...)

Years ago I saw a film on what I think was the FrontRow movie channel on cable tv UK. It was a kind of heist film centred around a game similar to Monopoly called 'Pits and Palaces.' All I can remember about the film is the name of the board game they play and that the main guy wins because of a condemned property or something. Resolved Question: Where to live in the countryside in the UK?
What towns, areas or suburbs would you recommend in the UK that are in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD, but yet have adequate transport to and from London via rail or bus? I'm looking for the typical wooded forests, country lanes, open fields, country streams etc, but don't want to be too remotely cut off from the main city centre either. Are there any real estate realtors that I can get in touch with online that have pic's of properties in these area's? P.S. I live in South Africa, so can't actually see these places over a weekend. Decline of trans-Saharan trade The Portuguese journeys around the West African coast opened up new avenues for trade between Europe and West Africa. By the early sixteenth century, European bases were being established on the coast and trade with the wealthier Europeans became of prime importance to West Africa. North Africa had declined in both political and economic importance, while the Saharan crossing remained long and treacherous. However, the major blow to trans-Saharan trade was the battle of Tondibi of 1591-2. Morocco sent troops across the Sahara and attacked Timbuktu, Gao and some other important trading centres, destroying buildings and property and exiling prominent citizens. This disruption to trade led to a dramatic decline in the importance of these cities and resulting animosity reduced trade considerably. how and what made North Africa decline? Voting Question: How can I connect Toshiba Equium A300 laptop to a TV via S-Video out...?
My laptop runs Vista Home premium 32-bit. After attaching the cable to the TV and the laptop, and setting TV mode to S-Video I tried FN/F5 (function for display settings) to change to the mode I need, through vista mobility centre, through the display properties and with the settings in the Radeon Catalyst Control Centre. Nothing worked! Please help! If not S-Video how can I connect over VGA? (more...)
