Open Question: funny religious jokes...not offensive!?
The head priest at a certain church was out for the day, so he asked the deacon to do confession for him. The deacon agrees, and the first person that comes says, "Forgive me, for I just gave a guy a blow job." He says, "You have sinned." Then he looks at the sheet on the wall that had punishments for certain sins on it, but blow job was not on there, so he went out to ask one of the altar boys what he usually gives for a blow job. The altar boy answered, "Oh, about five dollars." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A married man goes to confessional and says to the priest, "Father, I had an affair with a woman... almost." "What do you mean almost?" question the priest. "Well, we got undressed and rubbed together, but then I stopped." "Rubbing together is the same as putting it in," explains the priest. "You're not to go near that woman again. Now, say five Hail Mary's and put $50 in the poor box." The man leaves confessional, says his prayers, and then walks over to the poor box. He pauses for a moment and then decides to leave. The priest quickly runs over to the man and exclaims, "I saw that... you didn't put any money in the poor box!" "Well Father, I rubbed up against it and, like you said, it's the same as putting it in!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A drunk man who smelled like beer sat down on a subway seat next to a priest. The man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick, and a half empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket. He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few minutes the man turned to the priest and asked," Say, Father, what causes arthritis?" "My Son, it's caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol, a contempt for your fellow man, sleeping around with prostitutes and lack of bath." "Well, I'll be damned," the drunk muttered, returning to his paper. The priest, thinking about what he had said, nudged the man and apologized. "I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?" "I don't have it, Father. I was just reading here that the Pope does." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is God Real? An atheist professor was teaching a college class at Alabama and he told the class that he was going to prove that there is no God. He said, "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you 15 minutes!" Ten minutes went by. He kept taunting God, saying, "Here I am, God. I'm still waiting." He got down to the last couple of minutes and a big 240 pound football player in the class walked up to the professor, hit him full force in the face, and sent him flying from his platform. The professor struggled up, obviously shaken and yelled, "What's the matter with you? Why did you do that?" The football player replied, "GOD WAS BUSY; HE SENT ME!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There was a Minister whose wife was expecting a baby. The Minister went to the congregation and asked for a raise. After much consideration and discussion, they passed a rule that when the Minister's family expanded, so would his pay check. After five or six children, this started to get expensive. The congregation decided to hold a meeting again to discuss the Minister's pay situation. You can imagine there was much yelling and bickering. Finally, the Minister got up and spoke to the crowd, "Having children is an act of God!" In the back of the room, a little old man with a full beard stood up, and in his frail voice said... "Snow and Rain are also 'acts of God', but when we get too much, we wear rubbers!" i'm glad i cheered you up tanya... =] (more...)

Open Question: Name 5 ways that the earth gives props or recognition to God?
it clearly states some here in Pslams 104. When have you witnessed this. I'm feelinbg lonesome for beauty and nature right now Pslams 104 1Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. 2Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: 3Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: 4Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: 5Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. 6Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. 7At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. 8They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them. 9Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth. 10He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. 11They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst. 12By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches. 13He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. 14He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; 15And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart. 16The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted; 17Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house. 18The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies. 19He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. 20Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth. 21The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God. 22The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens. 23Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening. 24O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. 25So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. 26There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. 27These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. 28That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good. 29Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. 30Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. 31The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works. 32He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke. 33I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. 34My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD. 35Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD. ALRIGHT ALRIGHT and yes, i would love to lay down outside right now. everything is covered in ice. Resolved Question: Do you think a 7yr Peace treaty will happen this year with Israel and the Antichrist?
International efforts to bring about lull in south gather momentum: French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his foreign minister, Bernard Kouchner, will arrive in Jerusalem next Monday in a bid to mediate between Israel and Hamas. Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni is expected to meet with senior French government officials in Paris later this week. It also called for a return to the peace process interrupted by Hamas rocket attacks and Israel's retaliatory air strikes. "There is no military solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, in Gaza or elsewhere," the statement said. 'Urgent need to continue on road to peace' A number of European leaders and foreign ministers are expected to visit Israel in the coming days in a bid to help restore a truce. According to estimates, pressures on Israel to halt its military operation will increase in the coming days. Antichrist And he shall confirm a covenant with the many for one week. And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease; and on the corner of the altar, desolating abominations, even until the end. Daniel 9:27 HAPPY NEW YEAR POSTERS.. MAY YOU BE BLESSED WITH GOD's HOLY GRACE... Does Daniel's 70th Week starts on the eve of Passover. ? Elijah will come back on Passover in fulfillment of Jewish expectations & prophecy. Elijah will decry the antichrist for 1260 days - Revelation 11:3 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD -Malachi 4:1-5 As a result of the tradition that Elijah did not die but is with God, significant expectations of Elijah's future return developed within Judaism and Christianity. It was believed that Elijah would someday come back to earth, and his arrival would signal the dawn of the Messianic era. For texts that seem to connect Elijah with the future messiah, see Malachi 4:4-6, Sirach 48:9, and in the New Testament Mark 9:2-13. Resolved Question: Best Jokes Of 08...Part 3?
My FAVORITE JOKE OF 08 is...*Your Gonna Love This* While visiting England, George Bush is invited to tea with the Queen. He asks her what her leadership philosophy is. The Queen says that it is to surround herself with intelligent people. He asks how she knows if they are intelligent. 'I do so by asking the right questions', says the Queen, 'allow me to demonstrate.' She phones Gordon Brown and says, 'Mr Prime Minister, please answer this question: Your mother has a child and your father has a child and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?' Gordon Brown responds, 'It's me, ma'am.' 'Correct! Thank you and good-bye', says the Queen. She hangs up and says, 'Did you get that, Mr Bush?' 'Yes, ma'am. Thanks a lot. I'll definitely be using that!' Upon returning to Washington, President Bush decides he'd better put Sarah Palin to the test. He calls her to the White House and says, 'I wonder whether you can answer a question for me. 'Why, of course, Sir. What's on your mind?' 'Uhh, your mother has a child and your father has a child and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?' Palin hesitates and then asks, 'Can I think about it and get back to you?' Bush agrees and Palin leaves. Sarah Palin phones Barack Obama and explains her problem. 'Now look here, your mother has a child and your father has a child and this child is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?' Obama answers immediately, 'It's me, of course.' Much relieved, Palin rushes back to the White House and exclaims, 'I know the answer, Sir!' I know who it is! It's Barack Obama!' Then Bush replies, 'Wrong! It's Gordon Brown!' Voting Question: Where is the international law when this happens?
The Dignity, a Free Gaza boat on a mission of mercy to besieged Gaza, is being attacked by the Israeli Navy in international waters. The Dignity has been surrounded by at least half-a-dozen Israeli warships. They are firing live ammunition around the Dignity, and one of the warships has rammed the civilian craft causing an unknown amount of damage. Contrary to international maritime law, the Israelis are actively preventing the Dignity from approaching Gaza or finding safe haven in either Egypt or Lebanon. Instead, the Israeli navy is demanding that the Dignity return to Cyprus - despite the fact that the ship does not carry enough fuel to do so. Fortunately, no one aboard the ship has yet been seriously injured. There are 15 civilian passengers representing 11 different countries (see below for a complete list). At approximately 5am (UST), well out in international waters, Israeli warships began surrounding the Dignity, threatening the ship. At 6:45am (UST) we were able to establish brief contact with the crew and were told that the ship had been rammed by the Israeli Navy in international waters, and that the Israelis were preventing the ship from finding safe harbor. We heard heavy gunfire in the background before all contact was lost with the Dignity. It is urgent that you TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION! URGENT! Israeli Navy Attacking Civilian Mercy Ship! Portal:Saudi Arabia Raouf Amin el-Araby, a 52-year-old Egyptian doctor who has been serving the Saudi Royal family for 20 years, was convicted of malpractice. Egyptian newspapers reported that he was accused of driving a Saudi princess "to addiction", reportedly after treating a Saudi princess with painkillers. Initially sentenced to 7 years and 700 lashes, he has been sentenced to 15 years and 1500 lashes, 70 a week, after making an appeal. Family members, friends and colleagues gathered in outrage and grief outside the headquarters of Egypt's doctors union, calling upon King Abdullah to pardon Raouf. "1,500 lashes is unprecedented in the history of Islam," read one banner carried by protesters. "Who is responsible for the humiliation of our doctors abroad?" read another. The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) and the foreign minister are working hard to find a way to return Raouf home quickly. Hafez Abu Saeda, the director of EOHR, stated that the princess was prescribed the same medication that she was receiving in the United States, "so it is obvious that the doctor was not at fault for her addiction." Abu Saeda was astonished that the judge doubled the sentence and the lashes after the appeal. It is tantamount, he said, to penalizing Amin for asserting his right of appeal. "When you appeal against a sentencing it is the rule that it cannot go higher, but in Saudi Arabia it appears anything is possible," said Saeda. Protests in Egypt have driven the Egyptian foreign ministry to seek a solution, partly out of concern that negative repercussions may damage relations between Cairo and Riyadh. A human rights lawyer said that he was given the first 70 lashes last week and he will get 70 more this week. (more...)

Resolved Question: Resettlement of Guantanamo detainees, your thoughts?
(Washington, DC, December 11, 2008) - Other EU governments should accept Portugal's call to resettle Guantanamo detainees who cannot be returned to their home countries, Human Rights Watch said today. The Portuguese foreign minister, Luis Amado, made the call this week in a letter to his EU counterparts, stating that the "time has come for the European Union to step forward." Portugal is the first country to press publicly and formally for a coordinated EU resettlement plan. "For years, the US has been unable to convince its European allies to accept Guantanamo detainees who cannot be sent back home," said Jennifer Daskal, senior counterterrorism counsel for Human Rights Watch. "For the first time an EU government is publicly pushing to make that happen, and others should echo Portugal's call." Of the 250 detainees still being held at Guantanamo, about 30 to 40 have expressed concern about being tortured or persecuted if returned to their home countries. The men come from places such as China, Uzbekistan, Libya, and Algeria - all countries with long records of committing torture. These detainees include a group of Chinese Uighurs who have been cleared for release for years. US efforts over several years to convince its European allies to resettle these and other detainees have been unsuccessful, in part because the Bush administration has been unwilling to accept them in the United States. In October 2008, a US federal court ordered the Bush administration to release the Uighurs into the United States because the government had failed to find another placement for them. The government has appealed the ruling, and the Uighurs remain detained in Guantanamo. Human Rights Watch has long called on the United States to resettle some of the Guantanamo detainees into the United States who cannot be sent back home, including the Uighurs. Human Rights Watch also recognizes that EU assistance in resettling some detainees is necessary to ensure the prompt closure of Guantanamo. "The United States created the Guantanamo problem, and the United States is responsible for solving it," Daskal said. "But European governments can play a vital role in helping resettle detainees who have nowhere else to go." http://www.hrw.org/en/news/2008/12/11/eu-accept-portugal-s-call-take-guantanamo-detainees (more...)

Resolved Question: What do you think of this one?
Subject: Flu Shot Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties and had never been married. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all. One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea. As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a CUT -glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist. 'Miss Beatrice', he said, 'I wonder if you would tell me about this?' pointing to the bowl. 'Oh, yes,' she replied, 'Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the Park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter.' (more...)
